Matthias Goerne just arrived in Philadelphia where he will be participating in three concerts of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of Charles Dutoit on March 23, 24 and 25. In the following weeks, he will be performing with the Dallas Symphony and Jaap van Zweden (St. Matthew Passion), the Chicago Symphony under Charles Dutoit (Fauré Requiem), Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel (Mahler songs), San Francisco Symphony (Shostakovich’s Michelangelo suite) and Pittsburgh Symphony (Mahler), with Manfred Honeck conducting.
